History & Occupation:

Little is known of the history of the fort at Greta Bridge and it's original name is still a mystery. There are no records of the occupying units despite several inscriptions and tombstones being found here. The only unit attested here in any way is the 6th Legion (Victrix) who were involved in some repair work.

Remains and Visit:

Nothing remains above ground of the fort, but the ramparts and ditches are clearly visible on either side of the Hotel built over the northernmost rampart.
