History:
This large marching camp likely dates to the Domitianic campaign in Scotland and appears only to have been briefly in use.
Remains and Visit:
Though much of the perimeter of Kirkbuddo camp remains to some extent, the defences are not impressive. The most accessible area to the visitor is where the camp rampart passes across the B9127 in the centre of the woodland. Given time, you can walk the rampart but only a truly obsessive Roman historian would want to spend more than a few minutes giving the camp a cursory look.
